MISSISSIPPI PARTNERSHIPS IN EMPLOYMENT

Mississippi Partnerships in Employment (MSPE) worked to build capacity across existing state systems for sustainable systems change to improve outcomes for youth and young adults with DD/ID seeking competitive employment in integrated settings. The consortium worked collaboratively with various partners throughout the state to identify and promote policies that support competitive employment outcomes for youth and young adults with DD/ID seeking competitive employment in integrated settings by removing systemic barriers; identifying and implementing strategies and best practices that improve employment outcomes; and enhancing statewide collaboration that facilitates transition from secondary to post-secondary outcomes. Mississippi’s Partnership includes the Mississippi Council on Developmental Disabilities, The University of Southern Mississippi Institute for Disability Studies (Mississippi’s UCEDD), Disability Rights Mississippi, Department of Rehabilitation Services, Department of Education, Department of Mental Health Bureau of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, Department of Employment Security, disability organizations, and self-advocates.
